Navarre is an unincorporated community in Santa Rosa County, set on the Fairpoint Peninsula between Santa Rosa Sound and East Bay, with Navarre Beach on Santa Rosa Island across the sound. It has about 12 miles of Gulf shoreline and a reputation as one of the quieter stretches of the Emerald Coast.
Navarre is largely a home base for people who work elsewhere: military personnel, federal civil servants, defense contractors and retirees, with Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base to the east and Pensacola to the west.
